While I do feel it’s a little much on the descriptions, personally, the entire book was very interesting to read and enjoy and would not prevent me from reading more of your work.

You’re not the first to complain that I over-describe, although that comment is a fairly recent one, reflective of contemporary reading tastes. Reading a novel is obviously a collaboration between writer and reader. But I like to do more of the work, and let the reader as much as possible have access to how I see the story. For me — particularly in a historical novel or a period piece — descriptions of clothing and place setting are vital. But in any novel, what a character is wearing is characterization, just as where and how they live is characterization. The biggest objection I get is to clothing description, and I admit I find it astonishing how many writers send their characters running naked through stories (and not just sex scenes). I see myself as a kind of filmmaker on the page, and I have to do all the jobs — including wardrobe and set design.

The writing bug struck me later in life as I really wanted to be an illustrator. Lots of research and one how-to book after another I am learning I was a babe in the woods. Since I am retired now, living in Daytona Beach, Florida I have ample time to pursue both writing and art.
The legal pages are a generic form that I got from someplace I cannot remember. Plugins on WordPress do have some sort of legal pages. They just give you some measure to fall back on incase there is some dispute . . . and they look like you know what you are talking about. Take care.

I try to write tight without any unnecessary words so I guess it leads to single sentences. I’m attempting to improve on the prologue so the best is yet to come.

However, the storyline following from this Prologue MUST be intriguing. First class author imagination at work here.

I was a hard and diligent worker in the world when one morning I woke up with a driving imperative in my mind that I should begin to write. Where the impulse came from, I have no idea, but since then I have become a writer. Like yourself, I am not finding it an easy road to follow, but satisfying beyond belief. I have e-published one book in the ‘space opera’ genre and another will be uploaded to Smashwords and Kindle within the next two weeks.
I am finding the process of marketing my own book fascinating but I am not good at it. I need to take it more seriously and do more.
I see we both use WordPress, but did you write the ‘legal’ pages yourself? They are impressive.
I wish you all the best with this website. I will be back.
